Oyo Assembly Commends NSCDC Over Handling Of #EndSARS Protests

Oyo State House of Assembly on Wednesday, 4th November 2020 has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, over the way and manner it handled the #EndSARS protests in the State.

Oyo House of Assembly members led by the Chairman House Committee on Security and Strategy, Hon. Akeem Obadara, accompanied by Hon. Olayanju Kazeem, Hon.Kazeem Isiaka, and Hon. Tijani Jelili expressed their satisfaction with the Oyo State Command of the Corps over the action taken towards enforcement of law and order during the EndSARS protest in Oyo state.
The members of the House Committee on Security and Strategy, while on a working visit to the State Command Headquarters of the Corps Agodi Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, noted that the State House of Assembly members appreciate the role of the Corps played during the EndSARS protests.

Committee members through its Chairman, Hon. Akeem Obadara said that the House is ready to support the Corps in all ramifications to ensure that the Corps discharge its duty with human face and also with the fear of God.

Responding to the House Committee members, the State Commandant of the Corps, Corps Commandant, Iskilu Akinsanya, said that the Command appreciates the visits of the State House of Assembly members, noted that the commendation of the House members will go a long way towards boosting the morale of personnels in the Command.
“Your visit will further serve as source of encouragement to the entire Command, and I can assure you that the Command will continue to do all it takes to protect lives and properties of the residents of the State.”
Commandant Iskilu noted that the Command is meant to secure both the government and individuals properties, and we will not renege on our pledge to Support the Administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde towards providing adequate security to the lives and properties of the citizens and resident of Oyo State.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya also through the Press Statement that was issued to the effect by the State Public Relation Officer of the Command, CD. Oluwole Olusegun, used the medium to request for more support from the state government through the House security and strategy committee.
Commandant Iskilu stressed that the only way the Corps can serve the state better is having all necessary gadgets that could help the corps in functioning effectively and efficiently, such as more patrol vehicle and motorcycle that will patrol 68 divisional offices across the state”.
