BREAKING: New Babaloja of Oyo State Emerges

Following the demise of Oloye Oladapo Dauda Adisa, Alhaji Smaila Aderemi Jimoh popularly known as SAJ has emerged as the new Babaloja General and President of Oyo State Market Men & Women Association, reports.

His emergence was made known on Monday at the unveiling of new members of executive to the House of Assembly Committee on Commerce and Cooperative, in Ibadan, the state capital.
Also unveiled was the Iyalaje of Oyo state, Chief Kudirat Adetunji.

While speaking, the new Babaloja, Alhaji Jimoh thanked the market men and women who came together to make him the new Babaloja of Oyo state saying he was happy to hold the position.

While commending the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the support the market men and women enjoined during the Covid-19 pandemic, he commended the efforts of the House of Assembly especially the House Committee on Commerce and Cooperative for their love and support for market men and women in the state.
He also urged market men and women to continue to support the state government in its fight against the deadly coronavirus disease by following the containment guidelines as given by the State government and other relevant bodies.

Also speaking, the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Cooperative and Member representing Lagelu State Constituency, Hon Akintunde Olajide congratulated the new Babaloja of Oyo state.
Olajide also urged the market men and women to continue to support Engineer Seyi Makinde in governing the state.

“We are lawmakers representing each local government at the state level. Our duty is to make sure and ensure we represent our people. We got a letter that they want to visit the House of Assembly. We must accord them the respect to welcome them and to make sure they have a successful outing at the House of Assembly.
“I will simply advise everyone to keep calm and support the Governor, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde on his running of governance and peaceful coalition between each other and definitely pray for this state for the growth of all Youths and the children for a greater Oyo state.”
Present at the event were lawmakers who are members of the committee, Hon Owolabi Olusola, Hon Rasaq Abdullahi, Hon Segun Popoola, Hon Babajide Adebayo.
Also present were the Iyaloja in General, Chief Oluwakayode Odunayo Danjuma, Chief Mrs Koladaisi and other Iyalojas across the state.
